To Do

I'm home today, so what better way to spend the afternoon then walking through our house creating the largest to do list I've ever seen.

We bought our house in March and got married in July.  Needless to say, we spent March-July finalizing wedding details, not DIY'ing.  Lucky for us, we found a house that's in great shape, just a little outdated here and there - i.e. the Brady Bunch wallpaper below.  Yes, that beauty is in our second floor guest bathroom.  Please try not to be too jealous.

My dad seems to think that it's not so bad, but I think it just brings him back to his college days.  Look at that cool guy.

Note the perfectly placed posters in the background.  I guess this apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

The list below will probably make T, aka the house CFO, cringe, but here it is.

Laundry Woes

I am pretty particular (a word T often uses to describe me) about what I put in the dryer.  A big no, no – jeans and anything that has the potential of shrinking, even the slightest bit.

The other morning I realized that one of my favorite dresses was mistakenly placed in the dryer.  After letting out a loud sigh, I realized that I should be grateful that I have such an amazing husband who helps out so much around the house.  I am a very lucky lady.  T is usually the one who cooks dinner during the work week every day of the week, doesn’t complain when I recruit him on my crazy cleaning sprees, and willingly helps out with the laundry.

So, the only thing I could do was problem solve.  I’ve used water and conditioner on shrunken clothing in the past, but wanted to make sure that I followed the best process this time around.  I did a search and and it looks like water + conditioner = the standard process to fix shrunken clothing.

1. Add 2-3 tablespoons of hair conditioner to room temperature water

2. Soak garment for approximately 5 minutes

3. Lay garment on a clean dry towel and gently stretch/reshape

4. Allow garment to dry

I will let you know how it turns out.

Engaged

A dear friend of mine just announced that she is engaged and I couldn't be happier for her!  There is nothing like the engagement "high"... feeling like you are floating above the clouds and nothing can bring you down.  It makes me think about the day T and I got engaged.

It is crazy to think that it was almost two years ago.

It's Cold Outside

We are experiencing a sudden drop in temperature today and I am not a fan.

Thank goodness the weekend is looking up because ours is going to be busy, busy.

A Family Affair

The weekend always comes and goes too quickly, but when my family is in town, time flies even faster.  We had a great time at the Bridge Run, strolling through the Market, and enjoying an early dinner at Taco Boy.

Looking forward to their next visit.

xoxo
