I can remember daydreaming about this trip when we first planned it. I'd think about being 29 weeks pregnant, which seemed so far along, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first baby. At the time, we didn't even know if we were having a boy or a girl. The trip has now come and gone and I'm left with wonderful memories from our little pre-baby getaway.
We spent our Babymoon on Wild Dunes with friends who are also expecting. It was a great weekend filled with good food, lots of sun (most of which was enjoyed under the shade of an umbrella), and plenty of relaxing.
We arrived Friday evening and promptly ordered pizzas (the two pregnant ladies were starving, of course). We took a stroll up to the putting green and spent the rest of the evening relaxing... I was in bed by 9:30pm.
We spent Saturday at the pool while the guys enjoyed a round a golf. They met us later that afternoon and then we all ventured home together to make chicken tacos. Yum! After dinner, we took a leisurely walk on the beach and then came home to, of course, relax. I may have made it to 10:00pm on Saturday night.
Sunday was a beach day. I spent the majority of the time shaded by our blue and green umbrella, reading, and talking with Margaret Ann. Sunday was also our night to enjoy a dinner out. We dined at the Sea Island Grill & Lounge and couldn't have left any more satisfied (and/or full).
As sad as it is for trips like this one to come to an end, I was excited to get home and start "nesting" again. It seems like we are now officially in "count down mode". I can't wait for our sweet little lady to arrive in August!
